Community Information

 

Thanks to a generous grant from the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors, the Urban Outreach Bookmobile began service in March 2001 in order to bring the Library's services to urban residents of Los Angeles County.

The bookmobile service area, encompassing three supervisorial districts, serves the cities and unincorporated areas of Los Angeles, Hawthorne, Compton, Montebello, Whittier, La Puente, Azusa, West Covina, Rowland Heights, Valinda, Basset, East Los Angeles, and Avocado Heights.

At 27 feet in length, the bookmobile can accommodate 2,500 titles or more and is wheelchair accessible.
