As part of the Cal Humanities’ statewide initiative War Comes Home, The County Library will be hosting a series of programs focusing on the veteran experience. Join us as we explore through book discussions, film, and other activities the veteran experience. The programs will highlight Vietnam veteran and Rhodes Scholar Karl Marlantes’ book “What It is Like to Go to War”. Free copies of the book are available at the programs.

War Comes Home-a Personal Veteran Experience

Mervin Roxas served in the 3rd Battalion/7th Marines and earned the military rank of Corporal.  This Purple Heart recipient served in Iraq and was wounded by an IED.  Mervin has spent his time since his active service giving back to the Veteran community.
