Denis O'Leary is a bilingual teacher in Oxnard, California. He created these stories, plays and classroom activities because he was concerned that children, even those whose parents work in the fields do not know who César E. Chávez was. Three generations of farmworkers are presented through a series of plays, short stories and classroom activities. The stories and plays can be staged with props or presented as reader's theater. We have also created a crossword puzzle, word search, connect-the-dots and a coloring sheet for use in the classroom.
