El dia de los ninos ~ El dia de los libros - Children's Day ~ Book Day - April 30

The County Library celebrates children, families and reading on April 30, 2017. Join us at the Library during April and May to celebrate children and books! All events are free.

Children's Day/ Book Day originated from the efforts of children's author Pat Mora who was influenced by the annual Mexican tradition of El día de los niños.

"John and Juan" is a lively romp through the history of the Golden State.  John, a native Californian,  learns from the immigrant Juan about the State's Hispanic heritage, including early Spanish explorers, the original settlers of El Pueblo de Los Angeles, and  Father Junipero Serra, the Chumash indians, and the missions along El Camino Real...and John shares with Juan the excitement of the Gold Rush.

Dia De Los Ninos, Dia De Los Libros!

 

Join us for a cultural storytime about Sadako Sasami and the origami crane. We've been collecting origami cranes throughout the month and would like for you to take home a few to hangup. 

At the end of storytime, we will have an art activity for you to complete. We will also be giving out (1) free book for each child. 

This program is for children: 3 years - 17 years old.
