Gardena Mayme Dear Library to Close for Renovation |

The Gardena Mayme Dear Library is getting a new look. The Library will be closed for a major refurbishment project from January 21, 2008 to August 18, 2008. The last day of service to the public will be Friday, January 18. Reopening is anticipated for Monday, August 18, 2008. During this closed period, the building will receive new carpet and shelving; fresh paint; and up-to-date public service desks and ADA upgrades of public restrooms. This project is being funded by Second District Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke and the Office of Affirmative Action Compliance (OAAC). The nearest County libraries for customers seeking library service are: Masao W. Satow Library, 14433 South Crenshaw Blvd., Gardena Hawthorne Library, 12700 Grevillea Avenue, Hawthorne During the closed period, customers may return books to an outside bookdrop at the Gardena Mayme Dear Library, 1731 West Gardena Blvd., Gardena or to any other County library.
