Opera Takes Center Stage at the County Libraries in April

The LA Opera will take center stage through Opera Tales in ten community libraries in the County of Los Angeles Public libraries. The program is an innovative collaboration between the County of Los Angeles Public Library and the L.A. Opera. Children, families, and people of all ages enjoy opera stories, and music with a close-up view of performers at their County community library.

This unique free program is a forty-five minute touring presentation featuring five professional opera singers and a pianist who perform musical moments from such German opera stories as Wagner's Das Rheingold, Mozart's Abduction from the Seraglio, and Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel.

Opera Tales is available through partnership of the LA Opera and the County of Los Angeles Public Library, facilitated by County Supervisor Don Knabe, Fourth District. Supervisor Knabe and the Flora L. Thornton Foundation are funding the programs.
