| BACKGROUND: |
The East Rancho Dominguez Library project is a collaborative
effort between the County of Los Angeles Public Library and
Los Angeles Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas of the Second District.
The new 7,215 square foot East Rancho Dominguez library will replace
the existing 5,000 square-foot facility. It is part of the County’s Sustainable
Design Implementation Program, which uses the LEED-New Construction
rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.
The library will include plenty of space for reading, 24 public access
computers, teen area, free WiFi access, self-checkout stations, homework
center, a community meeting room with an audio and visual system, Family
Place area, group study room, and additional parking.
The $7.6 million East Rancho Dominguez Library project was funded
by Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas.
The new East Rancho Dominguez library is anticipated to open in winter 2012. |
