History
The Antelope Valley Bookmobile began serving the desert community of the
Antelope Valley in the 1940's. Currently, the bookmobile serves the areas
of Lake Hughes, Leona Valley, Lake Elizabeth, Gorman, Holiday Valley,
Antelope Acres and Green Valley.
Collection
The collection currently consists of 6,414 books; 19 periodical subscriptions
and 671 audio recordings and 1,610 videos recordings.
Services
Reference and Children's Programs (Summer Reading Program, bookmark contest
and other special programs throughout the year).
Facilities
A "library on wheels", the Antelope Valley Bookmobile provides service to rural
and remote areas of Northern Los Angeles County. At 27 ½ feet in length, the
bookmobile can accommodate 2,500 titles or more.
