History
Originally opened in 1977, the Diamond Bar Library has long provided
valuable services to both residents and visitors. Today, thanks to
renovations made possible by the City of Diamond Bar Redevelopment
Agency, the County of Los Angeles, and the
Friends of the Diamond Bar Library,
the library is even better equipped to meet the growing needs of the
community. The Diamond Bar Library was rededicated on August 15, 1998.
Collection
The current collection totals 114,678 books, 117 magazine and
newspaper subscriptions and 10,300 audiovisual items. The library
offers materials in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Hindi
and Vietnamese. The Friends of the
Library sponsors a book sale to support the Diamond Bar Library.
Services
The library provides adult and children's reference services; online
library catalogs that provide access to the entire County Library
collection and to online reference databases; public access Internet
computers; Children's Story time (Wednesday 10:30 am & 3:00 pm, Saturday
11:00 am); Reading Program; Library & School Visits and special programs
for adults and children.
Facilities
9,935 square-foot building on one floor; 132 person capacity meeting
room; coin-operated photocopier for public use.
