History
Lake Los Angeles and other rural areas in the Eastern Antelope Valley were
served by a County of Los Angeles Public Library bookmobile for 20 years.
A letter-writing campaign prompted the development of a permanent site to
better serve the community. The library opened on May 19, 1992 with a grand
opening ceremony on May 30, 1992.
Collection
The current collection includes 59,280 books, audio recordings,
videocassettes as well as magazine and newspaper subscriptions. There
are also some materials available in Spanish.
Services
Services available to customers are an On-line Public Access Catalog; a
Public Access Internet Workstation; a Public Access CD-ROM Workstation (with
Word Processor); children's programs; a coin-operated copy machine; and a
Friends of the Library Rental Collection.
Facilities
The library is housed in a 3,245 square-foot facility in the Saddleback
Plaza Shopping Center.
