History
The La Verne Library was originally established as the "Traveling Library"
on October 1, 1914, when the Lordsburg Library Board of Trustees joined the
Los Angeles County Library system. After numerous moves to ever larger
facilities, the new La Verne Public Library moved to its new building at
3640 "D" Street on July 29, 1985.
Collection
The library contains approximately 82,440 books for adults and children,
materials in other languages, approximately 71 magazine and newspaper
subscriptions, 5,916 audio recordings and 5,635 videocassettes.
Services
The library staff provides reference and
reader's advisory service, large print
materials and an online library catalog.
Facilities
The 10,013 square foot building has a meeting room with a seating capacity
of approximately 40 people and two small study rooms. There is also a
coin-operated photocopier.
