History
Founded in 1915, West Covina Library has been located in the West Covina Civic Center since 1961. The first County library designed as a "Regional Headquarters," it was remodeled in 1975. Today West Covina Library still serves as the East Regional County Library for the County of Los Angeles Public Library.

Collection
The West Covina Library has adult and juvenile materials in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese and Korean. The Library has approximately 276,994 books, 210 current magazine and newspaper subscriptions, and a collection of over 25,000 video recordings, compact disks, audiocassettes, large print books, and books-on-tape. Its subject specialties are art, music, entertainment and biography. As a County Library, West Covina also provides quick access to the holdings of the entire County Library system through the Online library catalog. West Covina Library is also a selective government depository for federal, state, and environmental documents.

Services available to the public include:

• Reference and readers' advisory services

• Children's programs (e.g., Story Time, Homework Center)

• Online library catalog, including general and online reference databases

• West Covina Library Book Club
  A book discussion group for adults (21+). The West Covina Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month in the library meeting room at the West Covina Library. Copies of the books selected for each month will be available for checkout at the library one month prior to the meeting. Facilities
Located in scenic Civic Center, the West Covina Library is a two-story building with a public area of 33,179 square feet. Adult services are located on the ground level; the juvenile department and government depository collection are located on the second floor. The Community Meeting Room has a seating capacity of 80 persons.
